Key West Conchs beat Keys Gate 5-3 on Thursday.
Keys Gate fired up the offense in the first inning. Reinaldo Prieto drove in one when he singled.
Key West Conchs pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Michael Mayor tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and Will Anderson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Danny Galvan earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Key West Conchs. He allowed four hits and three runs over six innings, striking out 14 and walking one. Dale Michaud threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Michaud recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Key West Conchs.
Enzo Evangelista took the loss for Keys Gate. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out eight.
Kyle Iarrobino, Dane Black, Mayor, Patrick Spencer, Anderson, and Antonio Knowles each managed one hit to lead Key West Conchs.
Omar Baldo led Keys Gate with two hits in three at bats.
