Early Lead for Key West Conchs Sets Stage for Victory Over Gulliver Prep

Key West Conchs jumped out to an early lead over Gulliver Prep and took home an 11-7 victory on Friday. Key West Conchs scored on a single by Brendan Roney in the first inning, a double by Michael Mayor in the second inning, a single by Logan Pellicier in the second inning, and a error in the second inning.

Key West Conchs earned the victory despite allowing Gulliver Prep to score five runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower by Gulliver Prep was led by Jacob Marcos, Lucas Nido, and Kevin Maura, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Key West Conchs pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Mayor doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Pellicier singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run for Key West Conchs.

Antonio Knowles took the win for Key West Conchs. He lasted six innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out ten. Peter Estevez threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Maura took the loss for Gulliver Prep. He lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and eight runs while striking out three.

Key West Conchs collected 11 hits. Mayor, Knowles, and Roney each collected multiple hits for Key West Conchs. Mayor led Key West Conchs with three hits in four at bats.
Gulliver Prep totaled eight hits. Maura, Nido, and Adrian DelCastillo all managed multiple hits for Gulliver Prep.
