Conchs Take Game One Againts Pompano Beach

Key West Conchs jumped out to an early lead over Pompano Beach and took home a 7-6 victory on Friday. Key West Conchs scored on a double by Dane Black and a double by Will Anderson in the second inning.

Bats blistered as Key West Conchs collected seven hits and Pompano Beach tallied ten in the high-scoring game.

Antonio Knowles pitched Key West Conchs to victory. He allowed five hits and two runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking one. Andrew Karch and Danny Galvan entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Karch recorded the last five outs to earn the save for Key West Conchs.

Chase Costello took the loss for Pompano Beach. He lasted four innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out three.

Key West Conchs tallied seven hits. Anderson and Michael Mayor all had multiple hits for Key West Conchs. Mayor and Anderson each managed two hits to lead Key West Conchs.

Pompano Beach totaled ten hits. Christopher Ajello and Trevor Kniskern each collected multiple hits for Pompano Beach. Pompano Beach didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jake Nord had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
